Pastoral Update

To All Participants in Fountain Vineyard 

Dear Friends 

We certainly are favored to be held by the Prince of Peace amidst the turmoil and despairs of this hurting world.

One of our greatest graces is the call to community. The Lord knows how helpful and restorative it is for us to do life in community. This is one of the ways he holds us!

He has saved us from the rebelliousness of independence. He has shown us how we find our way to His likeness in the wonders and challenges of community living. No more Lone Rangers!

Psalms 68:6 NIV

"God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land".

As we wind our way toward the mid-year mark (it's hard to believe how fast time flies) we are engaging more opportunities to enjoy and express community. Please watch our adverts for a variety of community building exercises.

Just a brief mention of a few:

• Men's Breakfast

• Ladies Events

• Connect Groups

• Discipleship Groups

• Young Couples Evenings

• Young Families Gatherings 

• Evergreens (For the 2nd Half of Life)

• Vision and Values Weekend (8-10 August)

• Other special events

We are very conscious that Community is God’s way AND that it is not easy ! It calls for sacrifice, adaptability and grace. However the isolation alternative is disastrous in the damage that it facilitates!! 

We recognize that God has led many to Fountain in recent months and so there is a need for us to ongoingly coach into practice the values that enhance healthy community, one of them being the commitment to  giving.

We do however find ourselves currently with a R65k per month average shortfall on budget. 

We also realize that our finances should be contributed as :

1. Gifts of gratitude. We appreciate the faithfulness of those who express community by their tithes. We are called to do everything with Thanksgiving!

2. Expressions of Commitment. It is said you can follow the money to find the heart. Jesus said " where the money is the heart will be also". If we are committed to the purposes of Fountain Vineyard our giving will support this.

3. A Matter of Faith. We trust God as our Provider and show this by making money our servant through giving it away and managing it with good values. 

Be encouraged to express unity by regular Tithes and Giving.
